Hazeldean Leia LLP – Renewable Energy for Mixed Farm

3R Energy completed the installation of a Northern Power Systems 100kW turbine at Hazeldean Farm in Oct 2014. 3R Energy provided a full turnkey service for the landowner from initial site survey, site feasibility, planning consent, grid connection to final installation and commissioning of the turbine.

Hazeldean Leia LLP’s core business is farming and the business has, over a period of time, looked at and considered the many and various opportunities of entering the green energy business.

Hazeldean Farm sits at an elevation of 225m and benefits from exposure to the prevailing south westerly winds with no obstructions. The annual wind speed is in excess of 7.0m/s and the turbine is estimated to produce in excess of 250,000kWh per annum.

“We have been very impressed with 3R Energy who helped us through the machinations of the planning process, were very professional in the actual erection of the turbine and finally steered us through the accreditation process.”

"As complete amateurs having 3R to 'hold our hand' through these processes was very comforting indeed."

“We look forward to our turbine, which we have christened Leia, providing a useful income stream to help support our farming business over the next twenty years.” I Fleming, client.
